Hello friends! We moved into our new home last week and it has been quite the whirlwind. We are so excited for this new adventure and are finally getting settled in and unpacked. When we started looking into purchasing a new home we were looking into new construction as well as current homes for sale. The thought of moving into a home all ready to go with our custom choices sounded ideal, but after walking through our {new} home we fell in love! I can’t wait to share some more photos once I unpack a few more boxes. I swear they are multiplying. 🙂 Isn’t that how it always goes?
I knew right off the bat there would be changes we wanted to make but overall this home fit almost all of our basic wishlist. We have already started planning the beautiful updates we’d like to make such as:
- updated kitchen
- new flooring
- updated paint throughout
- custom mantle
- custom molding and trim
- Re-stain stair rail
- updated exterior paint and landscaping
Of course I am sure there will be many more projects along the way and we cannot wait to get started. The first project on our list is updating the flooring. I cannot wait to replace our linoleum in the kitchen and carpet in the living and dining room. I’ve never been a huge fan of linoleum and the previous owners had a dog so replacing the carpet to reduce allergies is a top priority. I love the look of hardwoods like this beautiful Mohawk Flooring. Isn’t it just gorgeous?
I can’t decide if I like the lighter or darker color pictured below. I think the lighter would help hide this Wyoming dust that tends to always be around no matter how much I sweep. However, I love dark hardwoods!
I go back and forth between wanting hardwood in all the main living areas, but I also like the idea of transitioning to a SmartStrand carpet in the great room.
