Summer Mantle Decor

in Home Decor on 12/06/17

Hello friends! This past week we finished out school and we couldn’t be more excited to officially be on summer break! Now that things have finally calmed down (phew), I spent some time last week updating a few things around our home. Today I’m sharing my newly updated Summer Mantle Decor and I’ve teamed up with some fellow bloggers to share some fun ideas to inspire you. If you stopped by from Design, Dining, and Diapers, welcome! I love Taryn’s style and the fun way she updates her beautiful home.

Beautiful Summer Mantle by Marie Chorak at Blooming Homestead copy

Our mantle has been somewhat neglected since the holiday decor came down, (yep, 5 months!) so I was excited to add a little bit of color and freshness with greenery. I found this boxwood wreath at Pier 1 and I love the pop of color it adds. I also love to incorporate old books to add height and interest to the space.

Pretty Summer DecorationsOur mantle is very deep so I tend to get overwhelmed when I overhaul it completely. I’ve found a few key favorite pieces (like the mercury glass vase) that I keep up throughout most of the year and just add and subtract items depending on the season. For fall I love filling the vases with wheat and cotton stems, while winter brings naked branches and ice covered stems.

Simple and Beautiful Summer Mantle Decor

Adding in little vases or containers of greenery is one of my favorite ways to fill a space and beautify. I love to include little plants on my hutches, bookshelves, tables, and of course the mantle.

Adding foliage in home decor

One of my favorite and most affordable places to find faux greenery is Homegoods or Marshalls. They always have some cute little potted plants in vases. (this post contains affiliate links)
Faux Grass DecorI’ve got plans to frame out the mantle with white molding and new tile but for now I’m happy with how it has come together.

Fresh Summer Mantle from Blooming HomesteadI plan to share some fun Patriotic theme home decor with you over the next few weeks since the 4th of July is my favorite holiday and definitely impacts my summer home decor. Before you go, make sure to hop on over to Krista at The Happy Housie. I love her beachy mantle with those soft blue hues!

Is always quite interesting to me how each blogger decorates for same idea. Each one is inspiring to me, can glean ideas to implement my own decorations. They are all beautifully done, show casing each bloggers personality and talent. Enjoy seeing how each blogger interprets idea. Big gold star for each and every one.
    Enjoy rest of week
