Home Tour and BIG News!

in DIY, Home, Home Decor on 08/09/15

Hi friends, you may have noticed its been a bit quiet on the blog lately. We’ve had a busy summer and just started back to school last week and I am finally finding the time to sit down for a few minutes to share a Home Tour and our big news! I have mentioned recently how we were finally ready to finish our basement, well after thinking and discussing it a bit more we decided to go in a different direction. Long story short, in the past month we went from planning to finish our basement to finding a new home we love! We put in an offer and listed our current home a few days later. After 3 days we got an offer and are now preparing for our move to the new house next week. I took some photos of our home to share and also to remember this home we have loved so much. There were several rooms that I never got around to decorating so its not a complete home tour but hopefully you’ll enjoy.

I’ve loved adding some fun additions to the home like bamboo blinds and some custom molding.

View into the dining room. I’m going to miss this chunky molding, it was one of my most favorite projects!

The kitchen. I had a love/hate relationship with this kitchen. It’s always felt a bit dark to me with the flooring and I wanted to paint the cabinets, but it is so beautiful and my husband loved the cabinetry as is.  We added the granite a few years ago and it made a huge difference to the space.

Of course you can’t forget my favorite diy china hutch! Check out all the details here. Home Tour at Blooming Homestead

Our biggest update to our home was finishing this attic room above our garage. You can see more of the before/afters here

Our master bedroom is one of those rooms that never got much attention. I bought a cool stencil to use on the wall and planned to paint the entire room as well, but I couldn’t nail down a design scheme I wanted. I kept going from keeping it neutral to going bold with navy and coral but I never could quite make a decision. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hopefully it won’t take me 4+ years in the new house to make up my mind.

Master Bathroom, as you an see I never really got around to decorating here either. ๐Ÿ™‚

And several more unfinished/undecorated spaces just waiting for the new owner.  I can’t wait to share pictures of the new house, its got great bones but will need some updating. I’ll be sure to share the details after we get settled in.  One last photo of one of my favorite decorating spaces. ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay tuned for pictures of the new house!

What a beautiful home! I’m sure the new owners will love it, and I’m sure the new home you’re moving to will be well loved as well. I can’t wait to see your new home and the changes you’ll make to it. ๐Ÿ™‚
