Mail Organizer Makeover

in before and after, DIY, DIY/Crafts on 21/01/15

Can I just say how excited I am to share todays Mail Organizer Makeover project! I came across this magazine holder at the thrift store and knew I had to bring it home for my office. It was solid and sturdy and exactly what I was looking for to organize my nightmare mail. It was pretty beat up and definitely needed some tlc but I had a vision! I knew that I wanted to paint it a fun bright accent color to compliment my neutral office. Thank you to DecoArt for todays post, as always all opinions are my own.
Easy Mail Organizer Makeover
Supplies:

  • Surface for makeover (mail organizer/magazine rack)
  • Americana Multi-Surface Paint available at Michaels
  • Paint brush

Americana Multi-Surface paint comes in so many fun colors and it took me forever to narrow it down to the perfect color. I chose the color shrimp. It’s the perfect coral/pink color. 🙂
Americana Multi Surface
To get started I had to prep my surface. It was quite dusty and dirty so I just wiped it down quickly to prep it for painting.

 Next up comes the paint…

I loved this paint, it was so pigmented and did a fantastic job with coverage. And here is the finished product!

It turned out so pretty, and I love that it is functional too.

Now I might actually sort and attend to the mail in a timely matter…or at least my desk will be clutter free. 🙂 Are you working on projects to get organized for the new year or do you have something that needs a little updating? Check out the Americana Multi-Surface paint, available at Michaels. Visit the DecoArt Multi-Surface website for more crafting ideas and inspiration.

Wow! Amazing what a little paint can do. That mail holder has great bones and the paint really brought that out.
